When I was a kid, my family flew to the United States, bought a van, and then drove down to Costa Rica, where we were living at the time. On our way from the USA to Costa Rica, we drove through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. I was quite young, but I do remember the trip.
In 2006, I returned to Mexico as an adult. I went on a Christian mission trip with my church, and we visited the city of Ensenada, which is located in Baja California.
Ensenada is a nice place to visit, and there are interesting things to see in the city and the surrounding area.

I visited a church and met some nice people.

I helped put on a small carnival for the local children.

And I purchased a sombrero and a poncho to become the ultimate tourist.

I eventually returned to Mexico in 2024. That time, I went to Cancun, on the Yucatan Peninsula.
I took a day trip to Chichen Itza, a Mayan archeological site. I went on Viator’s “Full day Chichen Itza Tour with Valladolid and Cenote Experience”. On the same tour, I visited a cenote (sinkhole) and got to swim in it. I also visited the small town of Valladolid. It was a long, but fun, day.

Despite some thunderstorms, I was able to do some snorkeling in the area. I went on Viator’s “Puerto Morelos Reef Snorkeling Tour with Pickup”. I saw some interesting things, including a stingray, a conch, and an octopus.

On my last day, I went on two separate tours. In the morning, I went on Viator’s “Cancun Jet Ski and Parasailing Tour with Transportation”. Parasailing was relaxing, and jet skiing was exciting. In the afternoon, I went on Viator’s “Cancun Mangrove Channel Adventure with Transportation”. I was able to go snorkeling and drive a boat. It was thrilling and nerve-racking at the same time. It was a very memorable day.

My three visits to Mexico were all different, but together they gave me a better understanding of what life is like in the Estados Unidos Mexicanos.
