Australia, the land down under, was a fascinating place to visit. Because the country, which is also a continent, is so vast, I flew from destination to destination using a local airline called Jetstar.
Of course, my first stop was Sydney. I had to see the Opera House, the harbor, and the botanical gardens. I was not disappointed.

I went to the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, where I saw native wildlife, including koalas and a platypus. I also visited Bondi Beach.

I took a trip outside of Sydney to the Blue Mountains, a lush rainforest with cliffs and cable cars.

My next stop in Australia was Ayers Rock (Uluru). I got to see the monolith via a helicopter, and then I walked around the giant rock at sunrise. The outback, where Ayers Rock is located, has a beauty all its own.

Next, I made my way to Perth, where some friends of mine lived. I was able to stay with them and drive around the western coast. We went to several beaches, including Cottesloe Beach, where I ate fish and chips. On another occasion, I ate a kangaroo burger. Both times, I drank ginger beer. Good stuff!

Some other beaches we visited were Little Beach, East Bay Beach, and Betty’s Beach.

We also saw the Pinnacles, did some hammocking, and saw wild kangaroos!

Australia’s beauty can be seen all over, from the flowers to the birds.

And while in some ways Australia is just like everywhere else, in other ways it is truly unique, a land like no other.
