My first trip to Europe was to the United Kingdom. I mostly went because my mother had always wanted to go, and she didn’t want to go alone. That being said, I am really glad that I went, as the UK had a lot to offer.

Our first stop was London. We saw the main sights: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London. We visited them via a hop-on, hop-off bus.

We took a tour of Bath and Stonehenge. Both places were quite interesting.

We took the train to Oxford. Then we rode around in a hop-on, hop-off bus. I had a busy day, reading a C.S. Lewis book at Magdalen College, eating a mysterious treat from Alice’s Shop, stopping by The Eagle and Child for a drink, and attending Evensong at the Christ Church Cathedral.

We took a day trip to Kent to visit some friends, and while in the area, we took a drive out to Chartwell, which was the home of Winston Churchill. There were some beautiful views of the English countryside.

After mostly exploring on our own for a week, my mom and I decided to take a tour around the UK. We went on a week-long trip starting and ending in London, stopping at several places along the way, including Windsor, Bath, Llangollen, Liverpool, the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh, York, and Stratford-upon-Avon.

While we were in the UK, my mom and I got to see some cool things, such as the King’s Guard, a man playing the bagpipes, and red telephone booths.

I was also able to stand on Hadrian’s Wall, ride in a chain ferry, and have afternoon tea. It was a truly wonderful holiday.

When my mom and I took the tour around the UK, we went on Tourradar’s “England and Scotland Heritage (8 Days)” tour. Tourradar has lots of awesome tours to Europe. Check them out!

Another operator that I often use when traveling is Viator. Viator has lots of awesome tours, too. Check them out! To view a collection of the experiences that I have personally partaken in and highly recommend, go here.
